Over 800 Students Painting, Hosting Camps at Belle Glade

Middle and high school students from Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie & Okeechobee counties will serve the community in Belle Glade from June 11 to 19

BELLE GLADE, FL – Hundreds of students from Christ Fellowship are spending part of their summer painting, cleaning, serving, leading activities for kids and hosting community events during the annual Christ Fellowship mission trip in Belle Glade.

Students will complete dozens of projects including: paint a city building in South Bay, beautification projects at public schools in Pahokee and Belle Glade, paint a church, paint homes, lead sports camps and Bible studies, host a community event with bounce houses and hand out thousands of cookies as part of their mission to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Students will also work on improvements at the Belle Glade Life Center, which is run by Christ Fellowship to offer year-round after-school and Saturday activities for Belle Glade children and their parents.

All of the activities and food are free for the children and adults from Belle Glade.

“These students are all in. [tweet_dis]They’re giving up their phones, sleeping on air mattresses and losing the comforts of home because they all want to make a difference[/tweet_dis] and show what it means to follow Jesus,” said Life Missions Director Becky Kyle.

Christ Fellowship is partnering with local churches in Belle Glade to coordinate some of the activities. Over 200 adults volunteer their time at the camp. The week in Belle Glade has continued to increase in popularity over the years. There are two trips split up between middle school students from June 11 to 15 and then high school students from June 15th to June 19th.

After a day of community service projects and camp activities, students participate in high-energy worship each evening.
