F-I-G-H-T The Spiritual Battle— Part 3 “G”

So far we’ve learned to F-I-G-H-T the spiritual battle we need to first and foremost have Faith in Jesus Christ accompanied by Intentional prayer.

Our next weapon of choice is:

God’s living word.

Without a doubt, the Bible is the most significant piece of literature in the history of the world. No other book has faced more persecution, hatred or love than the Bible.

With an estimated six billion copies printed globally, it has been supernaturally preserved over the centuries. Time and time again archeology has proven the Bible to be one hundred percent accurate through the finding of entire civilizations, temples, and accounts of historical figures. The wealth of information supporting the truth of the Bible is astounding.

Yet it’s not just a book. It is the very living, breathing word of God.

“For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.”  Hebrews 4:12 ASV

It is God’s sword in our hands and in our heart preparing and equipping us for God’s good purpose. It equips us to fight the spiritual fight. As 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV says, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

It is so powerful, in fact, that Jesus himself spoke God’s living word during his spiritual fight against Satan (Matthew 4) and won the victory with the words: “it is written.”

So if history proves it to be true and reliable, God uses it to equip us for every good work, and Jesus quoted it during his spiritual fight, then why don’t we know it? To neglect God’s living word is equivalent to going into battle without a weapon. Only a fool would do that.

Bottom line … if you want to win you must know God’s living word.

F-I-G-H-T the Spiritual Battle (Part 1 “F”)

There’s no getting around it. We are in a spiritual war. We aren’t in a war with people, although that happens. The battle is with our scheming, vile, enemy—the devil.
