By now, many in the homeschool community have either read or seen reports of the recent Harvard Magazine piece offering the views of Elizabeth Bartholet, professor of law and faculty director of the Harvard Law School’s Child Advocacy Program
Most decent Americans do not want to see innocent children separated from their parents. Americans do not want to see legitimate asylum seekers returned to be mistreated in their home countries.
That brings me to a burden we all have shared since the news broke that seventeen innocent people, mostly children, had their lives ripped away earlier this week in a Parkland, Florida school.
In the wake of the protests in Charlottesville, Virginia, virtually every city in the nation is trying to determine if their statues and monuments are politically correct (including my city of Tallahassee). For many, the memorials of our founding fathers are now epicenters of violence and hatred. It seems everyone now falls into one of two groups: those who want the statues to remain and those who want them removed.
Last week, I wrote an article about a bill weaving its way through the Ohio State Legislature. It’s a shame this bill even needs to be brought up for a vote. My published article dealt with the facts – now I’m going to share my opinion.
